Heating and Fuel Advice
Helping the environment and saving money
More often than not you will hear that protecting the environment means spending more money than usual. This is not always the case.
Heating your home is something that you don’t have a choice about. Even though you may be concerned about your carbon footprint you cannot just stop heating your home no matter what kind of fuel you use. Here are some ways to reduce the amount of CO2 you produce.
Firstly use only premium quality fuels that will give you maximum calorific value. Less fuel more heat. Have your boiler serviced regularly to help the heat exchange between flame and water. Turn your thermostat down one degree, you wont feel the difference but you will save fuel. Save heat loss by better home insulation.
Transport is another big CO2 producer so let the oil in your tank drop to a low level then fill up your tank, less tanker visits equals less pollution. You can offset the larger fuel bill by opening a Planned Payment Account. You will also benefit from a lower unit price for the larger quantity delivered.
Reduce your paper usage and postage costs. Pay by card on the telephone or online if you prefer. This means less paper, less postage... less CO2 emissions. You can also place your order online and your invoice can be produced at the point of delivery... no posting invoices. You can elect to have all your documents sent by e-mail or fax. If you want to check on your transactions, deliveries etc. you can also do that online. All of these measures will save you money and help the environment.
